Karama Post Office Dubai: The total number of post offices from the UAE, now is 116. They were set up in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, from 1963 to 64.

However, the oldest standing post office that is still functional and retains its services is the Karama post office, which was renovated when the brand new two-wing construction was constructed in the 1980s. It was originally referred to as the General Post Office (GPO).

Abdullah Mohammad Al Ashram, CEO of Emirates Post, said”The Karama post office at Dubai is the oldest existing post office, built 1975.

“Constructed in the 1970s, it was among the largest buildings in the country at the moment. One of the buildings was primarily centered on sorting — it was done manually. The headquarters were also there and the central postoffice [offering the range of services].”

Finally, as the company got more significant, the headquarters with its administrative staff and also the sorting centre moved into the Umm Ramool area, which is now the primary hub for Emirates Post.

However, the central post office in Karama continues to actively function and function customers.

KARAMA POST OFFICE TIMINGS

  • Karama post office opening hours are from 07:30 am to 09:00 pm from Saturday to Wednesday.
  • On Thursday, Karama post office hours are 07:30 am to 01:00 pm and from 04:00 pm to 08:00 pm.
  • The post office is closed on Fridays. During Ramadan, Karama post office timings are 09:00 am to 05:00 pm.
